Keynote Speaker - Mr. Warren G. Kruse II - Vice President, Data Forensics and Analytics, Encore Discovery Solutions

Warren Kruse has more than 20 years of combined information technology, high-technology investigations and law enforcement experience.  Prior to joining Encore in 2007, Kruse was head of Aon’s U.S. High-Tech Investigations, Information Security and IT Consulting group.  Previously, he was director of the Northeast Region for the data forensics practice at Kroll and before that operated his own boutique firm, Computer Forensic Services, LLC.  Kruse also served as investigations manager for cyber investigations and forensics at Lucent Technologies and was a police officer in New Jersey.

Kruse has extensive experience in computer forensic cases involving some of the largest law firms and corporations in the world and has conducted forensic analyses globally in support of numerous cases, from civil disputes to criminal prosecutions at the federal level.  He serves as a lecturer on computer forensics, incident response, and cybercrime, frequently speaking at international events such as Computer Security Institute (CSI), MIS Institute at Certified Fraud Examiners conferences, and is also the coauthor of “Computer Forensics: Incident Response Essentials”, an Addison Wesley textbook.

Warren has testified as a computer forensic expert, including as an expert for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on January 21st, 2008 in the SEC vs. vFinance Investment Inc. matter.   He was appointed Court Appointed Expert in December 2008 for the NetJapan, Inc., et al. v. StorageCraft Technology matter.  March 8, 2005 Warren was named the court appointed expert for Union Pumps Company v. Centrifugal Technologies by US Magistrate Judge Hornsby, District of Louisiana.  Warren has also testified as an expert for the American Arbitration Association on 4-14-04 and 5-21-04.

Kruse is an IACIS Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) and an ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).  He is also a member of numerous government-sponsored initiatives, including board member of the National Center for Forensic Sciences’ Digital Evidence Certification Committee.

Recipient of the 2001 HTCIA “High Tech Case of the Year” award, Kruse was recognized for his forensic analysis conducted on an international case involving theft of intellectual property and trade secrets. Kruse also held a Top Secret U. S. Government clearance.
